As I mentioned in the previous couple of weeks, many of the seaside resorts in England are in a pretty sorry state as holidaymakers go to more exotic climes. Nowhere in the North-West of England illustrates this more than Morecambe. Once a very popular destination it’s now crumbling away. Perhaps the best chance for its revival lies in the Midland hotel. A magnificent art deco hotel on the seafront that is currently being restored. Due to open its doors again next year it will probably warrant a return visit to the town.
Main
Not everywhere is doing very well, and this shop only a few minutes walk from the Midland illustrates the dire straits that much of the resort finds itself in.

Alternatives
On a happier note, the weekend also saw me go to another steam fair in Cheshire. Lots of characters to photograph there. All were taken with an M8 and 28-50 Tri-Elmar, with the exception of the fairground horses which were take with a Noctilux.
