Week 28: Cumbrian Coast

Filed under: Uncategorized — sunsworth @ 10:51 pm

The weather has been terrible in the UK this summer with seemingly endless rain. So this weekend I drove to the Cumbrian coast in the North West of England looking for some moody shots under cloudy skies. Driving up though heavy rain storms my main concern was that it would be raining too heavily. In the event I needn’t have worried as I arrived to brilliant sunshine – exactly the conditions I was for once hoping to avoid.

Here are the selected shot for this week.

Main

This is the beach at Ravenglass at low tide. Ravenglass is a small coastal town, not much more than a village, and has a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. Somewhere to return to for certain.

Alternatives

This was taken a little further up the coast at Silloth showing the curved sea wall.

And finally this is a cafe in the town of Maryport where I had my fish and chip lunch. Typical seaside food.
